What happened to all the grocery stores on Jalan Kayu?
I had primary school classmates who lived on Boh Sau Tian road, the road was renamed to Seletar East Farmway (I can't recall the exact number). Those who lived on Boh Sau Tian are surnamed Ang.
Pei Hwa Public School was on Yio Chu Kang Road. At that time, it was served by SBS bus route 163.
Thanks for the lead regarding Boh Sau Tian Road. Its also interesting that those who stayed there were surnamed Ang. Yes , Pei Hwa Public School's Building is still very much there and the tenant there is now kinderland.:-)
One end of Boh Sua Tian Road started at the church at the end of Jalan Kayu in front of the Seletar Air Base. Boh Sua Tian Road was along the edge of the air base's fence.
The most popular surnames in my primary school were Ang, Ong and Toh. If you don't have one of the above surnames, you must have moved in to Jalan Kayu from elsewhere.
I don't know if this is correct or wrong, but it was during music classes and we were learning to sing that song "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" (I don't know if this is still taught in school.), my classmate said the music was the same Pei Hwa Public School's school song.

Visited the place a month ago with my teenage kids...had a great time reminising....
Anyone out there who did 1972 PSLE?

I believe that boh sua tian road is non existence now , just a millitary training ground , and those durain trees that we cultivated would have become delicacies for the soldiers traning there ...
The school, unfortunately, closed down at end of 1988. Too bad this blog did not go further to research Jalan Kayu Primary School as it was also part of the Jalan Kayu community.
another ANG
